Last year the girls and I put up a whole bushel of apples using this recipe. It was great and made whipping up an apple pie or cobbler a cinch.
7-8 c (9 c. for deep dish) thinly sliced, peeled, cored apples
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 c sugar
1/4 c flour
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/8 tsp nutmeg
2 TBLSP butter, cut into chunks
Take a freezer ziploc bag and dump in everything but apples, lemon juice and butter. Shake bag really well. Dump apples in bag, then throw in butter and shake well. Squish around juice in bag. Shake well again, suck out air and lay flat in freezer. To use, let thaw a little, break apart and put in pie shell. Bake as your recipe directs.
